How Does Spam Make YOU Feel?
 Oct. 13, 2003

Do you ever get tired of all those unwanted email messages in your in-box? You're not alone. Spam often generates within us feelings of anger and frustration. Why? I recently read an article that helps explain this. In this Network Magazine article the author gives some reasons for this. First is that spammers usually get away with sending out spam. He also states that "the spam kingpins are a seriously unsavory bunch, often with long histories of illegal fast-buck operations"!
Spam has also removed some of the benefit of electronic communications. According to Steve Steinke, the author of the article, "numerous people who could benefit from e-mail have been so scared and disgusted by unsolicted junk that they've given up." Another thing is that new users of email often click the so-called Remove Me links. Most of the time this just confirms to the spammer that the user is real! All of this is very angering and frustrating. To read the full article please visit Network Magazine. Enjoy!
